The Ultimate China Journey: Imperial Beijing, Electric Shanghai
If Beijing is a profound volume for understanding China’s history, Shanghai is a brilliant showcase for envisioning China’s future. One ancient, one modern; one northern, one southern – together, they form the most complete double-sided embroidery of China.
Shanghai – a super metropolis that seamlessly transitions between Western heritage and a futuristic skyline. Here, the century-old buildings on the Bund face the skyscrapers in Lujiazui across the river; the elegant cafes in the Sycamore District and the shengjian stalls at the alleyways coexist in harmony, perfectly embodying a modern China of “inclusiveness of all rivers”.
