Welcome to Bucharest! At the airport, keep an eye out for the Travel Talk sign for your transfer to the hotel. Spend the afternoon exploring the city at your leisure. In the evening, attend a welcome meeting with your fellow travelers to get to know each other and go over the itinerary for the next few days.
After breakfast, take a guided tour of Bucharest to see the city’s main sights, such as the Palace of the Parliament and the National Village Museum. In the afternoon, visit Bucharest’s Christmas markets, such as the one in the Old Town, to sample local food and drink and pick up some souvenirs.
Travel to Cozia Monastery in the morning, an ancient and beautiful Orthodox monastery. After a tour, continue to Sibiu and explore the charming Old Town with a guide, including the famous Christmas market. Enjoy the festive atmosphere and taste local food and drinks.
After enjoying the Christmas market in Sibiu, we will ride the Rasinari Tram to the picturesque village of Rasinari. You can immerse yourself in the local culture by visiting the village museum and learning about the traditional way of life in the area. Don’t forget to indulge in some traditional Romanian cuisine while you’re here, like sarmale (stuffed cabbage rolls) or covrigi (soft pretzels). And of course, make sure to sample the local mulled wine, a staple of Christmas markets throughout Transylvania.
Indulge in the historical charm of the medieval city of Sighisoara, the birthplace of the infamous Vlad the Impaler, better known as Dracula. Take a leisurely walking tour of the town and marvel at the well-preserved architecture, including the iconic Clock Tower Museum. Savor a delightful lunch at a local restaurant, sampling some of the authentic Transylvanian cuisine. In the afternoon, we’ll make our way to the stunning city of Brasov, renowned for its Gothic-style architecture and picturesque views. Explore the city’s famous landmarks on a guided tour and soak in the festive atmosphere of the Brasov Christmas Market in the evening. Sip on warm mulled wine, taste the traditional Christmas treats, and shop for unique souvenirs and handcrafted gifts.
No visit to Transylvania would be complete without a trip to the legendary Bran Castle, famously known as Dracula’s Castle. Discover the fascinating history and eerie myths surrounding this iconic fortress on a guided tour. Admire the stunning views of the surrounding Carpathian Mountains and step inside the castle to explore its eerie corridors and chambers. After an unforgettable morning at Bran Castle, return to Brasov and enjoy some free time to explore the city at your own pace.
