Day 5 Budva-Mostar - Sarajevo

After unloading the rooms and early breakfast in the morning, we set off for Bosnia and Herzegovina and Mostar, where the Mostar Bridge, one of the most important symbols of the Balkans, is located. Upon our arrival in Mostar, we get off our car and walk towards the Mostar Old Bridge District, famous for its narrow stone streets, traditional Bosnian houses and various shops. The most important artefact we will see here will be the Mostar Bridge. Mostar Bridge, built by Mimar Sinan's student Mimar Hayreddin in the middle of the 16th century during the Ottoman Empire, is one of the typical examples of Ottoman architecture. Built using cut stone, the bridge reflects the aesthetic and engineering achievements of the period. During the Bosnian War, in 1993, the Mostar Bridge was destroyed by Croatian artillery. This event became a tragedy that emphasised the symbolic value and cultural significance of the bridge. But with the support of the international community, the bridge was rebuilt in 2004, faithful to its original plans. Another important monument we will see on our Mostar tour is Koski Mehmet Pasha Mosque. The mosque was built between 1617-1618 by Koçi Bey, grandson of Köprülü Mehmed Pasha, Ottoman vizier and Governor of Bosnia. The name of the mosque comes from the name of the builder. It is a single-domed building, an impressive example of typical Ottoman architecture. Built using cut stone, the mosque features exquisite ornamentation and details typical of Ottoman architecture. Damaged during the Bosnian War, the mosque was restored with international support and efforts. After a short free time in Mostar, we set off for the capital Sarajevo. Upon arrival, transfer to our hotel and dinner. In the evening, our guests who wish to have dinner at the hotel can participate in our Real Bosniak Night in an Authentic Local Restaurant programme (Adult: 70 Euro / 02-12 Age: 45 Euro), which will be organised as an extra by our guide. In a local restaurant located in one of the villages of Sarajevo, we will taste an extremely rich menu consisting of the best flavours of Bosnian and Balkan cuisine at a local restaurant where the music group that will offer examples of sevdalinkas and the team that will perform traditional Bosnian folk dances will perform alternately. At the end of an unforgettable Bosnian Night, we will return to our hotel. Overnight at our hotel.

Day 6 Sarajevo-Belgrade

Sarajevo is a city that has hosted many different civilisations throughout history and is a geography where different ethnic groups have lived together in peace for centuries. Upon our arrival in the city, we will get off our car and start a walking tour in the famous Bashi Bazaar with its narrow streets, traditional shops and cafes from the Ottoman period. On our tour in Bashi Bazaar; Sebil Square, Coppersmith Bazaar, Ferhadija Street where you will experience both the Ottoman and Austro-Hungarian period atmosphere together, the Latin Bridge where the event that caused the start of the First World War took place and the Cathedral of the Heart of Jesus, our tour will end at the Eternal Fire Monument built in memory of those who died for the independence of Yugoslavia in the Second World War.
